And I am so excited.
Summer means staying out later to play and going to fun places where we can enjoy the sunshine. Summer means a little more fun at school and a lot more time in the water! Summer means lots of yummy fruits and veggies! Mom has been busy making sure to capture me on film because I am growing like a weed!
With the start of summer, I am also transistioning some other things in my life. I've been sleeping in my big boy bed now for a couple of weeks and I love it. Mommy got me blue sheets and blue pillow colors which are my favorite and when I get in bed I always tell her "it's so comfortable". I am very good at staying in bed and Mommy bought me a fun sounds machine that I get to listen to when I fall asleep. Sometimes I sing when I am trying to go to sleep. My favorite song to sing is "All the Single Ladies..." and yes, I even know the OhhOhh Ohh part! Mommy even taught me to stay in bed until it's light outside.
I have also moved up to the three year old room at school - The Ladybug Classroom. While I'm not quite three, they thought I was ready and some of my friends moved with me and so it's really fun. The only downside is they don't have a changing table and so I have to wear pull-up's now instead of diapers and they are putting a lot of pressure on me to use the big boy potty - I comply sometimes but don't they understand it's easier just to go in my diaper? Mom says I need to try and use the potty whenever I can so that by the time I am three, I am fully potty trained. She says that would be a good birthday present for everyone who has a birthday in October!
Speaking of birthdays, I can't wait until mine. I ask Mom a lot "when my birthday is going to be" and I already told her I want a Brobee cake although she has been looking at pictures of trash truck cakes so I think she might make me two cakes. Speaking of Yo Gabba Gabba, I still love that show and am very excited cause they are coming to town in November and Grandma bought tickets so we can go see them. I like to see the Cool Cool Tricks part of the show and I have been practicing my own Cool Cool Tricks.
I love to stack these cups that Mom bought me for brushing my teeth. They are very fun.
Another fun thing that Mom and I are doing is gardening. Mom says we have to work in the yard a little bit each weekend day and a little bit after work because we have a lot of yard to work with. Mom taught me how to plant a garden from seeds. I mixed the soil with water and got it ready and then we put the soil in these little planting cups and then I put seeds in the cups and we planted the cups in my garden box. Here is a picture of me from a couple weeks ago when the seeds started to grow and a picture of me recently - as you can see, I have a green thumb!
I still love sports and will play any game anytime. I just started soccer today and it was so fun. The class is called the Thumpers and we are going to learn all sorts of skills that are important for playing soccer like running, stopping, weaving in and out of cones and people, head bounces, drop kicks, how to kick goals, and most importantly how to listen to directions from our coach. My coach's name is Coach Hilary and I am really looking forward to getting to the soccer park more often.
We have had a fun couple of weeks hanging with family and friends and just enjoying the summer. Mom says we may not update as much during the summer as we will be spending a lot of time outside but she'll be sure to upload some pictures now and then. Have a great summer everyone!
