As the month continued, we opened more doors on the advent calendar. It sure was a lot of fun and I hope Mom lets us do this again next year. Here's a little inside look at what we did for the rest of the month.
December 13 - We went to Nob Hill with Grandma and Grandpa to see Santa - it was the third time I saw him and I was very excited! The house on Nob Hill is amazing- it is covered with lights from the roof all the way to every part of the lawn. It's truly amazing how many lights and wonderful animated things they have there. We came last year too but I don't remember it being this great!
December 14 - I got to try a candy cane for the first time. I really just discovered candy this past Halloween and I sure love it but mommy tries to limit the amount I can have. Anyways, she brought me home this big candy cane that her friend at work made for her but she said that one was a little big for me to eat - so I got to try a little one. I sucked on it for a couple minutes but I didn't like it too much so I tried to hang it back on the tree but mommy said once it's been licked, it can't go back on the tree.
December 15 - Mommy and I bought Barbie Dolls and took them to this man in a nice uniform. Mommy says it's important to give to others all the time but especially this time of year. She said this man volunteers for Toys for Tots and he will make sure the toys get to little kids who need them.
December 16 - Today Mommy taught me how to wrap presents. I didn't really have much interest in it - but I I did really like unraveling the roll of tape!
December 17 - Tonight we read the book, The Night Before Christmas. I really liked this book and we also looked at a picture book about Santa's workshop. Him and his elves work really hard to make toys for us all year long.
December 18 - This was a night that both Mommy and I will really remember for a long time. We went out to Sioux Munyon's farm. This lady Sue is a friend of My Aunt Brenda's and she has a ranch with really big Belgium Horses. We got to run all around the ranch, we had dinner and I got to sit on top of a big Belgium horse. The best part of all is that we went on a horse driven sleigh ride all around the property and we got to sing Christmas Carols while doing it! It sure was a blast. Mommy says she had so much fun and it was great to spend some holiday time with Dana, her girls, Aunt Brenda and Angela. If this is what the holidays are all about, I think it should be Christmas year round!
December 19 - I spent the night with Daddy and Mommy got some much needed shopping done.
December 20 - Tonight I painted a wooden reindeer ornament. It was really fun using the paint although Mom thinks I got more on me than I did on the reindeer.
December 21 - Mommy read me the story about Baby Jesus again and we talked about the reason for the season. I don't quite understand it all but I think the Wise Men are super smart for starting the tradition of bringing presents!
December 22 - More Christmas Crafts - Mommy let me glue all kinds of fun ornaments to this big green Christmas tree
December 23 - I can't beleive there is only one more window to open in the calendar and so Mommy let me combine today's window and tomorrow's window together. We had so much fun. In the morning, Mommy and I made about 4 pounds of sugar frosting.
Of course, I had to lick the mixer. This surprised Mommy because she has never let me do this before and yet I just did it. Mommy thinks it must be natural instinct to want to lick the mixer after mixing. I really like cooking, so this was a lot of fun. After my nap, we went over to Grandma's house and my friend Maddie and her Mom and Aunt came over and all of us made Gingerbread houses. Seeing all the candy in the little bowls was like a minature Christmas in itself and Mommy let me eat lots of it (seeing that it was the holiday season). I did manage to get some on my house also.
After we finished decorating the gingerbread houses, we started on the next day's activities - we decorated Christmas cookies. It sure was fun to do these activities and I was glad that I got to share making the houses and cookies with my good friend Maddie.
Thank you mommy for such a fun month of doing all the advent calendar activities! It was a blast! I can't wait for next year!
