It's time for me to report on how much fun we have been having with our advent calendar! I sure love opening the windows of the calendar and truth be told I think Mommy's having as much fun as I am - maybe more!
December 7th - we did indoor Christmas Caroling which is a good thing as it was pouring down rain here. Anyways, Mommy got me this Elmo book where it has all the words to the Christmas Carols and then you push the button and the music comes on and Mommy and I sang along. We had a lot of fun and I think we must have sang the 10 songs at least 10 times each as we spent an hour singing and dancing! Lots of fun!
December 8th - we watched Mickey's Christmas Carol - Mommy liked it but it really didn't hold my attention and there were parts that were a little scary. Mommy said maybe we should have waited until I was a little older for this one.
December 9th - we watched Rudloph's Shiny New Year and Mommy told me the story of Baby Jesus. It was a fun casual night and we cuddled a lot. Oh...and I got some mail today! Santa sent me a letter by US Mail and the mail lady was so nice, she brought it right to the door for us and she handed it directly to me!
December 10th -I spent a little time with Daddy tonight and then when I came home, we read the book, "Merry Christmas Big Hungry Bear," it was a great story about a bear who was very hungry.
December 11th - we were supposed to do a couple of things tonight but it got busy so we wrapped a few presents and watched Elmos' Countdown to Christmas but we had to push setting up the Christmas train until Saturday!
December 12 - Today we set up the Christmas train. Mommy made a small mistake though - when she bought the train she didn't think to measure our space and so when she got the train track set up, we realized that the train couldn't actually go on it as there wasn't enough room for the track to lay flat because of the fireplace bricks and so now we have this great train but it can't go on the tracks. Mommy let me put the train altogether though and we ran it up and down the hall but it looks like we won't be able to keep it around the tree. Mommy said we are going to take it to Grandma and Grandpa's house and see if it can be set up over there. It is a really cool train and it even blows smoke when the bell sounds.
I'm looking forward to the next week - Christmas is only 13 days away and we still have a calendar of fun stuff to do!
I think I may have to borrow your advent calendar idea for next year. I love that it is activities rather than all candy or toys. So fun!
